Policies & Information

Terms & Conditions

Important information about our policies, procedures and terms of service at Little Sunshines Daycare & Pre-School.

Important Notice

The information below provides a summary of our key terms and conditions in parent-friendly language. For the full legal terms, policies and procedures, please download our complete policy pack or request a printed copy from our office. By registering your child with Little Sunshines, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

Admissions & Registration

We welcome children aged 0–5 years at Little Sunshines. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. To secure a place, parents must complete our registration form and provide all required documentation, including proof of address, birth certificate, and immunisation records. A non-refundable registration fee may apply.

Fees & Payments

Fees are charged monthly in advance and are payable by bank transfer or childcare vouchers. Late payment may result in additional charges. We accept government funding for eligible children (2, 3 and 4-year-olds). Fees remain payable during your child's absence due to illness or family holidays. One month's written notice is required to terminate your child's place or amend sessions.

Sessions & Opening Times

Little Sunshines is open Monday to Friday, 07:30 am – 6:00 pm, excluding bank holidays and a short closure period over Christmas and New Year. Parents must collect their child by 6:00 pm; late collection charges apply after this time. If your child will be absent, please notify us as soon as possible.

Illness & Medication

Children who are unwell must not attend nursery to prevent the spread of infection. We follow Public Health England guidelines on exclusion periods for common childhood illnesses. Staff can administer prescribed medication with written parental consent. All medication must be clearly labelled and handed directly to a staff member.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

The welfare and safety of every child is our top priority. All staff are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding procedures. We follow the Bromley Safeguarding Children Partnership guidelines. If we have concerns about a child's welfare, we have a duty to report them to the appropriate authorities. Parents will be informed unless doing so would place the child at greater risk.

Behaviour & Anti-Bullying

We promote positive behaviour through praise, encouragement and clear boundaries. All children are treated with respect and dignity. We do not tolerate bullying or aggressive behaviour. Our behaviour management policy is based on understanding children's developmental stages and helping them learn appropriate ways to express feelings and resolve conflicts.

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

We are committed to providing inclusive care and education for all children. If your child has additional needs, we will work closely with you and relevant professionals to ensure appropriate support is in place. Our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) will develop an Individual Support Plan tailored to your child's needs.

Notice & Termination

Parents must provide one calendar month's written notice to terminate their child's place or reduce sessions. Failure to provide sufficient notice will result in fees being charged in lieu of notice. We reserve the right to terminate a child's place with immediate effect in cases of non-payment, breach of terms, or if we believe we can no longer meet the child's needs.
